Our House

Billy and I have been living in our little condo for two months now. I LOVE it!! There are a few things that I don't like, for instance, our garage isn't attached to the house, but that's really no biggie as Billy uses it for his precious Charger :@ But other than that, it's a great first started house. Anywho, I wanted to do a blog about our house, especially since not much people have seen it! lol

8 is a lucky number in China. The word for it -- ba -- sounds so similar to the word for prosper and wealth (fa) that many people believe eight is a number that is linked to prosperity. There is also a resemblance between two digits, "88," as the word for it means double joy (shuang xi)

8 Facts about 8:

  • An airline reportedly paid $300,000 five years ago to buy 8888-8888 for its telephone number.
  • The opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Beijingbegan on 8/8/08 at 8 seconds and 8 minutes past 8 pm (local time).
  • Nine thousand weddings took place in the Chinese capital on Friday the eighth of August, 2008.
  • In Hong Kong, a personal license plate with the number eight can cost millions of dollars; A single eight on your license plate gives you status. People know you have to pay top dollars for it.
  • A man in Hangzhou offered to sell his license plate reading A88888 for RMB 1.12 million (1 USD = 6.8480 RMB).
  • You can cut the number 8 in half vertically or horizontally, and both halves mirror themselves perfectly. Perfect symmetry lends itself to perfect balance.
  • In Judaism, the eighth day of a boy's life is when he enters into a covenant with God and the Jewish people by having his foreskin removed.
  • Mormons are baptized at the accountable age of eight.
I would like to tag Andrea. Good luck

School, school, school

This may sound very very strange but I actually am enjoying school this semester. Yes it's a bother to go to class, do homework, and take tests but I enjoy the class. Currently, my major is Math Teacher. I have changed my major like 3 times so I really hope i still to this one. lol. I enjoying teaching and love when people understand the concept, I just dunno if I'll enjoy it when I have a classroom full of 30 students. I wanna teach middle school . . . I know, I know, what the HELL am I thinking? lol But I figured I could make a difference in their lives esp since middle school is where basic math skills are learned. If a student doesn't know that, there's no way he/she can success in high school or in the real world.

Last week in my Intro to Teaching class we watch a movie called "How Difficult Can This Be?" Richard Lavoie presents how children with Learning Disabilities perceive, process, and learn information. It was very very very interesting. I learned so much by jus being able to participate in the activities Richard used. Below is a short clip about Fairness. He discussed many topics but this is the ONLY one i could find on the web :D

The Big Day

So I basically took FOREVER for this blog (right Billy?). But now that it is here, I hope yall like it :D

08-08-08
Whoa, where do I start? My wedding was amazing! It wasn't too hot and it wasnt too cold, just perfect. Exactly what I was praying for.

I woke up early that morning: 6:30am, in order to get my hair done, my sister's hair done (the maid . . . of honor lol), my mothers hair done, and bolita's hair (aka grandma). My aunt (my mom's sista), Kuki did all our hair. She owns her own salon in Salt Lake: Nouva Imagine. After my hair was all done, Viver worked on my makeup - made me look all gorgeous :D

After all that jazz, we headed to Billy's church building for delicious brunch. Oh MAN! I was starving!! The food was sooo yummy, of course!! I ate strawberries, piƱa, potato salad, eggs and drank juice. There was also muffins and more, but I cant quite member. lol

After the brunch, momma and i headed to the temple. HOLY CRAP!! there was absolutely no parking. We would have been on time, Billy would have been proud, but we were circling the whole parking lot for one decent parking space. Finally entered the temple and Billy had this evil look of death on . . . turns out we were 20 mins late :( meh, it'll jus have to get used to it - - i think he'd rather die lol!
Once again, the temple was amazing. Awe. The bride's room was verrry beautiful. Our sealing was delayed 30 minutes due to my father being late . . . he was one of the witnesses. But all in all, it was ok cuz Billy and I were able to sit in the Celestial Room a lil longer. After sitting there for a very long time, we began to think that they forgot all about us so we might as well elope. lol.
The blessings pronouced to both of us were very touching and spiritual. I almost cried, but then I knew my makeup would be ruined, so I held back the tears hehe. Very great and rewarding experience. I am so thankful for it.

OH MAN! the reception, boy was it gorgeous. The cake, the lil garden, the fishes, the decorations, and of course t
he pictures of me everywhere - absolutely amazing. Good thing we invited SOO many ppl, cuz HALF of them showed up. So it was a good number. Kinda bugged me that ppl who made a BIG deal about my wedding didn't even bother showing up. Whatevers, now I know who really cares for me and Bilbo.
Silly Skyler brought a toast. ha! Manny (the maid . . . of honor lol) did an amazing toast/special number. I loved the lyrics!! They were exactly for me!! Our first dance was soo long!! It was ever ending. hehe. But it was nice - I finally cried. hehe. Billy saw me crying and said "Finally! You're human!" haha. I cried for two reasons. One being there with Billy jus overwhelmed me with happiness. And second, I turned to look at my brother, over protected brother, and he looked at me and smiled. His warm and friendly smile gave me so much happiness. I knew he was happy that I was happy and that he approved of Billy. Awe, it was a very special moment for me that I'll never forget.

The cake was delicious, even tho I only had a very tiny piece. hehe

After the bouquet and garter were tossed we were on our way to the honeymoon . . .

oh la la

Welcome Home

So I am officially an aunt. The reason why I use "officially" is because Billy has two nieces and one nephew, so when we got hitched, they became my nieces and nephew. However, my brother's (Chris, aka Cucs) girlfriend, Cassie, recently gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy: Carlos Chance MirandaChance was born on September 12, 2008 at 10:37 pm. Poor Cassie was in labor for 4 hours. She said she is very glad to have him out but now she's in extreme and possibly more pain. Proud parents: Chris Miranda and Cassie Zamora
I know this baby will bring a lot of joy to both Cux and Cassie. I only hope that it will help my brother see what's most important in this life. I love Cux very much and I'm so excited that he created a handsome baby boy. I wish all of them the very best :D

Billy and I visited the baby on Saturday afternoon. We each were able to hold him and share a Kodak moment hehe
