No gain, No loss

Pretty much didnt weigh myself this week. Its not that I didnt want too (but it could be half of the reason ;) but I couldnt. Billy went camping this weekend so I stayed at my brothers' house and they didnt have a scale. Oh shucks :D

So we will jus pretend I didnt gain or lose anything. Current weight 173.8 muahaha

I've been considering writing down everything I eat. Does it work? Will I be able to control myself by actually writing down/seeing what I put in my mouth? I'm sure I'll forget every once and a while, so is it even worth it? Any ideas?

I definitely need to change my lifestyle. I really dont think I eat horrible. But if I want to see results that I like and make me happy, I WILL need to change my eating habits. Maybe weight watchers? I've heard a lot of great stuff on them. I will jus need to convince Billy on getting me a membership ;)

I'm not sure if I'm about to hit a plateau or whats going on. But I will be starting a soccer team on May 1, so that will be my motivation to get back on track and in shape. I'm so excited!! I havent played soccer in sucha long time and I really dont understand why. Its such a great sport and it doesnt even feel like I am working out. Cant wait!!

My goals for Week 11:
1. Work out 3x week
2. Eat lotsa fruits

Meet the newest member of our family

Billy: I really want to see how you will be when we have a baby?
Shahny: What? Why?
Billy: Cuz you are carrying Nala around everywhere

Nala. The night we got her, I noticed she was sucha lil biter. And at that moment she had reminded me of Simba in The Lion King when he's was cub
and tries to growl and was acting all tough. I immediately thought "Nala!" Billy liked it and it stuck.

She is sucha lil cutie. I let her sleep with me for two nights jus because I couldnt let her outta my sight and hearing her cry all night was not gonna happen again. HOWEVER, she kept me up all night! She was moving around and climbing on me and trying to play. Oh man, I was so tired those two days. We found that she was quiet and calm when her kennel was facing Aku. We cant explain it, but we dont care as long as we can peacefully sleep :)

I have never ever had a puppy before. She is 6 weeks old and boy! she is tremendous. I've been trying to potty train her with the "training pads" we got at Petco... well, lets jus say there is good moments and bad moments. But I know I'll get it. And then from there we will house train her.

Oh gosh! She is sooooo funny. She runs around, biting everything she can, barking at anything that gets in her way - even the carpet! - then without even knowing she's passed out on the floor. Funny lil thing. I love her so much and I am so glad that we got her.

Ps. I have come to the conclusion that if I can do this puppy thing for a whole year, Ima be a DAMN good momma!!

A Peacock Wedding

My sorority sister, Leslie, was married on Friday, March 27th. I absolutely LOVED her wedding theme: PEACOCKS! Beautiful colors - turquoise, orange, and brown. I was running late and I really really wanted to see the ceremony. I got there 10 minutes late ... but the ceremony was running late as well. It didnt start til an hour later. PHEW! Well, phew for me, stress for her. lol

The ceremony was so good. Leslie and David said their vows to each other and it was soooo beautiful. I tried to get some good pictures, but instead I got a lot of heads. I should have chosen an aisle seat. Silly me. But I made it all up with a very juicy "Kiss the Bride" picture

I was able to stay a few minutes for the reception (as it was also my dad's bday.... hopefully I will post that soon). The centerpieces was super gorgeous, my fav! And the food was yum yum yummy! Did I mention "Chocolate Fountain" ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Love it! The only sad part of the entire wedding was that I didnt get to have any cake. Sad sad sad. It looked really good too!

Accutane

Once upon a time there was a young lady who was very crazy excitable and silly. But unfortunately, her acne caused serious problems and on some days, her self-esteem wasnt that great. Who is this young lady, you ask? Why, me!

There were days were the acne on my face was really bad. I really did not want to look in a mirror. I didnt wanna even bother putting make up on. And frankly, I jus didnt like my face. It hurt even worse when everyone I knew made comments about my face. They made their own suggestions about what I should try and what I should stop eating and why it happened to me. It seemed like that was the only thing people would see when they looked at me. My acne. It was unbearable. So many times, I'd get defensive. And mad. There were times I would scream and jus stormed out of the room jus so my face wouldnt be the topic of conversation.

Oh, how bad I wanted to get rid of it. For it to be jus a phase. To wish I had only one or two. I was desperate. I tried ProActive, Natures Cure, Mary Kay, Benzagel cream, Minocycline and more that I really and honestly do not member. These only worked for the first month and then no more results. So I gave up. I figured this was what I needed to live with. This was how it was going to be.

Then, in July 2009 my mother told me how my cousin tried Accutane and how it worked. I seriously did not even wanna try it. Why bother? I thought. But my mother insisted. I, of course, got defensive and mad. I asked her why it was so important for her to have my face acne free? Its not like she had to live with it. Then she responded, Because I know how unhappy it makes you. She was so right. It was awful. I hated it. And I deeply wished it would jus go away. But I did not want to be disappointed again. So I told her to make the appointment for me and to pay for the meds. She agreed.

My face is so much better. So many people close to me have noticed. But, unfortunately, this process was not happy-go-lucky. It took 7 months. 7 miserable months. I experienced many of the side affects: skin dryness, nausea, vomiting, mood swings, back pains, blurred vision, massive headaches. Honestly, I wouldnt want to do this again. And so I really hope that my acne doesnt come back. Maybe, maybe I'll be ok with jus a couple here and there. But please, acne, leave me alone :)

IF any one of you are interested here's a few sites you could go to. But please, please, keep in mind, that its a very very serious and intense drug:

Ps. Pretty much love my face these days :)

A shower and a wedding

My brother finally got married. But before we say how it went, lets rewind to Kjera's shower ;)

Her bridal shower was "Shhhhh!! Its a Secret Shower" and we did so good at keeping it hush hush until Pike ruined it all. Curse HIM!! lol jk. It was still a good shower, espesh since I was in charge of the games :)

We played 4 games: The Right Wedding, Wedding Alphabet, Couple Memory Game, and Honeymoon Night. I really enjoyed coming up with the games. Games are what makes a shower fun, and let me jus say, it was fun shower ;)

After the game, we opened the presents. Kjera was beyond excited for all the gifts she got. She tried on every lotion, every perfume, and then said "I should go shower. I stink" lol what a nerd. I know she enjoyed the day and I'm very glad she did!

Now, on to the wedding: I am happy to report that I did not fall down the stairs during the ceremony. Woot Woot! The reception center was absolutely gorgeous. I really liked the decorations. Kjera looked so beautiful in her gown. Mike was a stud. And the cake was yummy :) You know, I'll jus let the pictures do the talking :)

Welcome to the family Kjera!!

Billy

Pretty much I feel like a horrible wife. I realized that I had not done Billys birthday celebration. What in the world was I thinking?!?!

Billy said he was craving BBQ so after many days he finally decided to go to Famous Daves. At first, people were making excuses not to come. And it really bothered me. Its not jus any other day to have dinner. It was Billy's birthday, my hubby's birthday
and he decided on Famous Daves. You cant jus say "i'm JUS not coming to your birthday" RUDE!

Unfortunately, the food wasnt that great but we sure had fun. Singing Happy Birthday and spending time with each other. Once dinner was over, we went to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D!! Billys been wanting to see that ever since he first saw the trailer. And it was soooo worth it. I honestly think it's better than the first cartoon one (which I saw the night before for the first time lol).

I really think Billy had a great birthday. Especially better than last years. And that was my goal for this year

  • A better birthday
