UCRC Christmas Party

Billy and I were very excited for my work Christmas Party. One reason was because we haven't had one in two years! The other reason was because we were going to eat at Tuscany's for the first time ever! Yum!!

Although the waiter keep messing up our pre-ordered food, we all had a great time!! The food was super D-lish. And we ended the night with a delicious dessert. Here's the one I had:

Mark Eaton’s Old Fashioned Two Layer Chocolate Cake
with Ganache Frosting and Vanilla bean Gelato

First Christmas Card

I dunno know about you, but I love greeting cards, wedding announcements, baby announcements, invitations. I adore the different designs people come up with and well, I love receiving them lol

This year I had a wonderful idea (or in other words I got my idea from here) on how I would display the Christmas cards we'd receive.  I was so excited to begin hanging cards on this lil beauty...

I jus needed cards to hang!! lol We didnt receive our first Christmas card til December 13, 2010. But it was so worth it! The card was sitting on our porch with some yummy treats
As we thought who in the world would send us these?? We read:
Dear Brother and Sister Short,
Thank you so much for being my Sunday School teacher. You are definitely my favorite Sunday School teachers I have ever had. It's too bad I get moved up in January. Thanks for all you do. Merry Christmas!

We definitely hung it up with so much pride and joy!!

Be More Positive

In case you all have forgotten, I am going to school to be a Math Teacher. Yes, I said math. lol. Last week I had taken my last final for this past semester. I must admit that I wasn't excited. Yes I was SO excited that the semester was finally over. But that's the point, I was so excited. Part of me didn't care if I did well on the final. I just wanted it to be over with. I wanted my break. I needed my break. I am definitely not motivated for school. I cant complain when I get my grades for this semester, cuz let's be honest, I did not give 100%.

My friend had said that she wanted to go back to school, but like me she isn't motivated. But then she said something that really stuck out to me.

"take one class at a time and try to enjoy it instead of focusing on
only obtaining a degree"

When I think about school, the first thing that pops into my head is a degree. And when I think about how long I have to go til I'm finally done, I get overwhelmed. I have such a long time to go. But if I were to change my perspective and focus on a class at a time and just keep going, then I feel like I will do better and that it will fly by. I don't think I can go full time and work full time so I shouldn't focus on that part either.

Its all about attitude. I really think it's important for me to have an education and so I should be more positive about it. Even though homework and studying and tests are annoying, I really do enjoy learning new things. So I should suck it up and be more positive.

Kodak Moment

isnt she jus darling??

Go Jazz Go

Billy had gotten some Jazz tickets from work last Monday. So I MADE him take me.

Lemme jus show you how close we were:
7th row baby!
I could seriously SMELL the sweat! OK, maybe not, but the alley-oops looked way cooler up close and personal.

They played the Memphis Grizzlies and although we despised #33, the Jazz pretty much swept the floor with their WIN - 94:85. Woot Woot! in your face Marc Gasol!!

Yup! We were happy fans:

Oh and did I mention we made it to the TV??

We are officially famous :)

Thanks Mr. Spencer Ferguson!!
and Thank you Sam for calling in sick lol

Its Final. I have no luck

A couple of days ago I needed some luck... I'll letcha in a lil secret..
I HAVE NO LUCK. I was even a lil optimistic since I entered in like ONE HUNDRED giveaways! AND there was some I didn't even enter CRAZY!!

There was one where the winner didnt respond and so she announced another one... pretty sure my heart stopped but nope.

I guess the best part that came outta this was the fact that I found a few interesting bloggers and since then I have followed a couple :)
House of Hepworths
Nathan and Kari Otto

Goodbye Jessica!!

So back in August (I know, I am jus sucha slogger!! member, slacker + blogger) Billy decided he wanted a new car. Although the charger (or as Billy would like to say, Jessica) was a wonderful car, she was too expensive, high maintenance and did not preform well in the snow.

Hello! we live in a UTAH! We need to have a car that performs well in winter AND summer. And so, we said "Goodbye" to Jessica and got ourselves a truck!!

Farewell Jessica!! It was great while it lasted!

Lagoon Day

My church had their annual "Stake Lagoon Day" back in June. My cousin in-laws from California have never been so I invited them, my sister in-law and her family, and my mother in-law. Unfortunately, they weren't able to come due to prior engagements, so, it was just Manny and me

We had so much fun! I'm pretty positive that our favorite ride was "Wicked." Ahh it was sooo scary but oh so fun.

What a great sister day!
